Creating folders | Top
Using Manage Files, you can create folders
for managing your files. Note: You cannot create
folders in the WebCT-Files folder.
- From Manage Files, from the Folder
Options drop-down list, select Create New.
- Click Go. The Create
Folder screen appears.
- Enter a name for the new folder.
Folder names can contain any of the following: az,
AZ, 09,
comma, space, _,
&, ( ),
,
., and ~
Note: The following cannot be used as the
first character in the folder name: dash (-), tilde (~), and space. The
following cannot be used as the last character in the folder name: period
(.) and space.
- From the drop-down list, select the destination for the new folder.
- Click Create. The Manage
Files screen appears.
Deleting folders | Top
You can delete one or more folders at a time from Manage
Files. Note: You cannot delete folders
in the WebCT-Files folder.
- From Manage Files, select the the folder(s)
that you want to delete.
- From the Folder Options drop-down list,
select Delete.
- Click Go. The Delete
Folder confirmation screen appears. Warning:
Deleted folders cannot be retrieved.
- Click Delete. The Manage
Files screen appears.
Renaming a folder | Top
You can rename folders in Manage
Files. Note: You cannot rename folders
in the WebCT-Files folder.
- From Manage Files, select the the folder
that you want to rename.
- From the Folder Options drop-down list,
select Rename.
- Click Go. The Rename
Folder screen appears.
- In the New name text box, type the new
name for the folder.
Folder names can contain any of the following: az,
AZ, 09,
comma, space, _,
&, ( ),
,
., and ~
Note: The following cannot be used as the
first character in the folder name: dash (-), tilde (~), and space. The
following cannot be used as the last character in the folder name: period
(.) and space.
- Click Rename. The Manage
Files screen appears.
Zipping folders | Top
You can zip (compress) the contents of a folder into one file. Use this
feature if you want to download
an entire folder.
- In Manage Files, select the folder that
you want to zip.
- From the Folder Options drop-down list,
select Zip.
- Click Go. The Zip
Files in Folder screen appears.
- Enter a name for the zip file.
- From the drop-down list, select a destination folder.
- Click Zip. The Manage
Files screen appears.
Tip: If you want to move or download the contents
of a folder, zip the folder and then download
the .zip file.
