What do you want to do?

Moving a message to a different folder | Top

There are four default folders: All, Inbox, Outbox, and Draft. To add a folder, see Adding a folder.

  1. From the Mail Folders table, click the folder that contains the message that you want to move. The Mail Messages screen appears.
  2. Click Manage Messages. The Manage Messages screen appears.
  3. Select Move to the following folder and choose the folder from the drop-down list.
  4. From the bottom of the screen, select the message(s) that you want to move. Click Go.
  5. A confirmation message appears. Click OK.

Deleting a message | Top

  1. From the Mail Folders table, click the folder that contains the message that you want to delete. The Mail Messages screen appears.
  2. Click Manage Messages. The Manage Messages screen appears.
  3. Select Delete the selected messages.
  4. From the bottom of the screen, select the message(s) to delete. Click Go.

Deleting all messages in a folder | Top

  1. From the Mail Folders table, click the folder from which you want to delete all messages. The Mail Messages screen appears.
  2. Click Manage Messages. The Manage Messages screen appears.
  3. Under Delete all messages, select Delete all messages from folder and, from the drop-down list, select a folder.
  4. Click Go. A warning message appears. Warning: All messages in this folder, including ones not displayed on the screen, will be deleted.
  5. Click OK. All messages in the folder are deleted.

Forwarding mail to an external email account | Top

As you receive WebCT mail messages, they can be forwarded to an external email account.

Note: Depending on administrator settings, this feature may not be available to you.

  1. From the Mail Folders table, click Message Settings. The Message Settings screen appears.
  2. Under Mail Forwarding, select Forward my mail to and type the email address that you would like your messages forwarded to.
  3. Click Go. All WebCT mail messages will now be forwarded, as you receive them, to this external email address.

Setting the number of threads to display per page

  1. From the Mail Folders table, click Message Settings. The Message Settings screen appears.
  2. Under Number of threads to display per page, make your selection:
    • To specify a certain number of threads per page, select the first option, Display (textbox) threads per page, and enter a number in the text box.
    • To display all messages on the same page, select Display all threads at once.
  3. Click Go to make changes take effect.
  4. Click Mail to return to the page displaying mail folders.

Length of subject in Message Listing

  1. From the Mail Folders table, click Message Settings. The Message Settings screen appears.
  2. Under Length of subject in Message Listing, make your selection:
    • To specify a limit to the number of characters displayed, select the first option, Display (textbox) characters of subject, and enter a number in the text box.
    • To display the full subject, select Display whole subject.
  3. Click Go to make changes take effect.
  4. Click Mail to return to the page displaying mail folders.
